Security & Things: How a Wix Studio Website Became a Business Development Asset

CASE STUDY | WIX STUDIO | PROFESSIONAL SERVICES | SEO + AI OPTIMIZATION

Some website projects begin with a lack of content. Security & Things was the opposite. Brian Tuskan already had the expertise, the ideas and a clear direction for his brand. What he needed was a professional digital system that could organize that knowledge, communicate authority and make the site feel as established as the experience behind it.

The Challenge

When Brian and I first reviewed the project, he had already started working in Wix and had content taking shape, but the technical setup, site structure and professional polish had become time-consuming. His goal was not to build an online store. Security & Things needed to function as a credibility and lead-generation platform for a senior physical-security professional.

The website needed to help visitors quickly understand Brian's point of view, experience and services, while also giving him a home for videos, articles, documents and industry resources. It also needed to feel clean, modern and easy to navigate, without creating unnecessary contact friction or forcing Brian into constant website management.

The Wix Studio Strategy

I rebuilt the experience in Wix Studio with a refined dark visual direction, stronger typography, cleaner spacing and a responsive layout across desktop, tablet and mobile. The structure centered on a clear homepage, About content, an Insights area, resources and downloadable documents, video integration and a direct contact path.

The design work was only one part of the transformation. I also reorganized the visitor journey so that expertise came first. Instead of asking the visitor to interpret scattered content, the site presents Brian as an authority, then gives the visitor clear ways to explore his thinking, resources and consulting work.

SEO and AI-Ready Expert Positioning

Brian selected the version of the project that included SEO and AI optimization. That work included SEO titles and meta descriptions, URL and indexing readiness, image alt-text best practices, clearer heading structure, internal linking and strategic wording designed to make Brian's expertise easier for both people and machine systems to understand.

The purpose was not to fill the site with generic AI content. It was to create clear expert positioning around physical security technology, while structuring the information so search engines and modern AI systems could more easily identify the topics Brian is qualified to speak about.

Launch, Domain Support and Real-World Flexibility

The project also required practical launch support. When the domain transfer between GoDaddy and Wix became difficult, I helped Brian work through the connection process so the site could go live properly. After launch, the site remained flexible enough to evolve with his business. When Brian later chose to pause podcasting, I hid the podcast-related content rather than deleting it, preserving the work in case he wants to restore it in the future.

The Result

The strongest outcome came directly from the client. Brian later told me, "My website has been invaluable for my business development." He also shared that the site receives many compliments and that the design gave him what he had been trying to achieve.

In September 2026, while discussing a major corporate opportunity, Brian told me that he believed the website design helped him get the job. I do not present a website as a guarantee of business results, but this is exactly what a strong professional website should do: support credibility when an opportunity appears.

The Takeaway

For expert-led businesses, a website is not simply a portfolio. It can become the place where experience is organized, authority becomes visible and referrals or professional opportunities find a credible destination. Security & Things is a strong example of why design, UX, SEO and expert positioning should be built together from the beginning.
